Goggle Spreadsheets: Very Close To Usable
google-spreadsheet.thumbnail.jpg"/>Much thanks to JLP from AllFinancialMatters, for sending me an invite to try out Google Spreadsheets. I was interested to evaluate the web tool because many financial bloggers like to use, design and share spreadsheets. Google spreadsheets could be a great way to share such information! I looked around, tried a few features and even uploaded one of my own spreadsheets. After playing around for about 30 minutes, I decided to send Google a feedback. I thought I would share what I wrote:
Hi there,
I wanted to try out Google spreadsheets and imported one of my own spreadhseets as a test. I’m not a spreadsheet power user but I immediately knew what I missed. The cell comments in my excel spreadsheet became lost in the import. Are there any plans to incorporate this feature and also to retain the comment information during import? Sometimes, it’s very useful to put your mouse over a particular cell and get an explanation of what is contained within through the cell comment.
Thanks for putting this out. It’s close to perfect and probably the best version I’ve seen for an online spreadsheet application.
Sincerely,
Vince Chan
Have you tried Google Spreadsheets yet? How was your experience?
